after several cooking class with mak..alhamdulillah berjaya jugak wat chapati..yeeeayyyy!!! x yah beli lagi...
selalu wat sebelum ni mmg end-up jadi cam flying saucer..what does that mean??
oh..when u put the chapati straight up ward, it wouldnt bend down..it kept straight like a flying saucer..hahahaha maksudnyer apa..keras la tu...x lembut!!
so kali ni hubby nyer test pertama is to put it straight upward..hahahah and it bend down nicely...waahh x sangka akhirnye leh wat..rupanye dulu silap sbb air x cukup panas n cara menguli salah..pas mak tgk how i did it..then mak bitau cara tu salah..
and same as my roti puri..pas tanya jaja baru tau what i did wrong...so the next one would be roti puri hhehehe...
we ate with kari sardin n teh tarik...hihi
ooh carenye mudah ajer..masa tu guna
2 cawan capati
1 cawan tepung gandum
1 mangkuk air suam panas..
gaul dua2 tepung ngan garam, masukkan air panas, kacau ngan tangan secara clockwise..biler dh rata sumer tepung kene air n looked macam breadcrumb kasar yg besar2 pastu
* note - tak perlu tuang semua air dlm tepung, masukkan sikit demi sedikit n gaul clockwise sampai jadi breadcrumb kasar..bila adunan tepung dah jadi breadcrumb kasar..x perlu masukkan air lagi..go to the next step.
masukkan minyak sampai boleh diuli jadi doh..nk tau die lembut masa nak tarik putuskan doh tu mudah x, elastic sgt..
minyak tu agak2 je, maybe approximately..1/2 cawan minyak to 3/4 cawan minyak..
uli smpi minyak xde di jari..sbb akan diresap oleh doh..
then bulat2 kan sebesar bola golf..golekkan dlm tepung gandum biar x melekat masa canai..and goreng atas kuali / flat pan, under a big fire..
masa nk terbalikkan sapu minyak sapi/minyak biasa.
bile dh coklat serata sumer boleh angkat..

Ive made this pie several times before..many have asked the recipe. I got it from a link in one of my fav reading blog..happyhomebaking.
True to what she said, the crust taste and look similar to shortcut pastry..its easy and very amateur-friendly for people like me..
ive never done a pie before..and an attempt to make one has always made me wonder, should i invest in making one when knowing if it doesnt turn out well, its gonna be a waste..
after reading happy home baker's blog, ive tried it and alhamdulillah it turned out well...so here it is..u REALLY should try it out!!
150 gm butter
250 gm plain flour
1 tsp sugar
1 egg yolk
A pinch of salt
1 tsp of herbs ( mixed / rosemary)
100 gm yoghurt
Put all the ingredients, except yoghurt, in a mixing bowl. Rub butter into flour mixture until like breadcrumbs. Add in yoghurt and mix to a dough.
Dough will be very soft so need to keep it refrigerated for at least 30 mins.
>(i didnt refrigerate it, ive always knead it straight away)
* ive used this recipe to make two medium pie aluminium foil cases..but i only
managed to cover only one pie (base and top) the other x cukup..only managed
to cover the top..
* to get more dough to cover your pies, just double the qty..u'll get one big pyrex
pan(just like in the pix with my frens) and some extra dough for small pans.
in my case, i managed to fit 2 small oval pans (approx.5cmx12cm).and of course for
that u have to double ur fillings.
Filling ( adjust to own preference)
1 big onion diced
diced cooked potatoes
Sliced button mushrooms
2 chicken breast, diced
½ cup water
1 tbsp cornflour mixed with 2 tbsp water
1 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp oyster sauce
salt n pepper to taste
Heat abt 2 tbsp of oil and fry potatoes until golden. Set aside.
In a clean wok, heat 2 tbsp oil. Fry the onion until transparent. Add mixed vegetable, mushroom, chicken. Add in potatoes.
Add in water and cook for abt 5 mins. Add in seasonings.
Add in the cornstarch and stir to thicken mixture. Cool and set aside.
this dough is enough to make 6 half-cup muffin size pies.
Roll out the dough, cut the size required and place in a pie dish. Poke holes at the base using a fork. Put 2 - 3 tablespoons fillings in. Cut another piece of dough to cover the top. Poke a few more times using fork on the cover of the pie. Brush with 1 beaten egg. Baked in a preheated oven at 180°C for 25 - 30 mins.
use remnant to make decorations for pies.

Another trip back to perth..and when we arrived..we were welcomed by tonnes of dry leaves all around the house..and to add to the 'excitement'..our house agent will be coming on tuesday (we arrived last sunday) for inspection
whhhaaaatttt??? only one day left to clean up everything..
lepas kemas umah bagai nak rak..on tuesay, the agent called x jadik datang.. what the??
tapi pikir2 balik bagus jgk, at least sumer daun kering tu dh clear..n all that total up to 25 garbage bags..fuhh.!!!
pokok daun kesum ku yang mati together with other flowers..uwaaa sedihnyer..
syirah all ready to 'help'.. ;p

arrgghhh time is not on my side...i didnt even realize that im going back to perth in another 2 weeks time..
so many things to do...itulaa asyik tangguh je keje...always thinking lama lagi..lama lagi... tup2..dh nak balik perth dah...
ok..i do admit i missed our 'home' in perth..but at the same time i'll miss all my families in malaysia..unlike friends which are IT savvy and all...YM,facebook are all keeping us connected 24-7..but to my aunts, my mom..mana la nak reti sangat..
buatnye hang kejap...dah gelabah x reti caner nk wat...
my dear cousins are all getting married..nina.congratulations..may u be a good wife n mother in the future..
adrin..congratulations on your engagement..sorry cant make it that day..but im happy for you dear..hope i can make it tou your wedding later on.
my sis in-law nonie..is back for good from new zealand..she graduated with flying colours from University of Victoria Wellington, same as my papa, same as my abah...hehe..
and the new generation continues..nonie must be proud of herself..continuing the legacy..i know everyone is..including me!! heee congratulation nonie..!!
and what about us, who'll be going back to perth..what would we feel when we're gonna leave perth later on...??
Many has happened last year..and the decision made in our new life destination was not favourable to all.
whatever it is..no matter what happened..i'm praying hard that He will show us the best way for us to lead our life in the future..
As the new year begins..im praying that:
*i'll be a a lot tougher spiritually...(guide me towards this ultimate aim ya Allah.)
*i'll be a better wife to my beloved husband and my dear children.
*i'll be more n more patient and always take things postitively in life..
*we'll have a better life..more importantly one that is blessed by You ya Allah
nevermind the $$$ although it is important..but YOUR blessing is the ultimate aim
to achieve happiness now and in the hereafter..
ameen..ameen ameen...ya Rabbal Alamin...
yeah...i know im being sensitive and all writing like this..but that's what im hoping for our days ahead..!! Please pray for us..as i will for all of you..
