izzah bukan main lagi seronok tgk papa die pecahkan kelapa..asyik sebut, "coconut mama, cocnut papa.." siap makan lagi kelapa tu..but after a small bite..muka semacam je..hehe..rase pelik la tu..sbb x biasa makan kelapa mentah camtu je..hihi

murtabak & roti john bazar ramadhan

listening al-kuliyyah series every morning during sahur
dengar iklan buka puasa kat tv (hehehe..)
but im actually looking fwd to thiS year ramadhan as the experience will be diff
in every way..sayang jugak xleh nk bertarawih kat surau..kalu x lagi best..

Izzah sibuk nk 'tolong' basuh pinggan... hmm ader sekali tu..xpelah die ngah main2 ngan sudu sumer, dok kacau2 air lepas basuh pinggan nk turun kat lubang sink tu, tetiba dah terover excited..pegi minum air tu..sib baik sempat nmpk..suro die buang balik air tu..suro die kumur byk2..ya Allah izzah izzah..
kalu masak pun die ader kat sebelah..and she will ask every single thing that i do.. rase cam kelas memasak pun ader.. bile masukkan bawang die tanya, 'what are you doing mama?", biler masukkan mende lain, die tanya lagi, bile kacau mende dlm periuk die tanya lagi apa kite wat...hmmm kalu xde nk rush apa2 ok laa leh la jawab pertanyaan die..n explain apa kite wat.. sbb actually she's trying to learn.. tapi kalu nk express sbb nk kejar masa..alamatnye..kene cakap kat die..next time mama explain..im in a hurry izzah, nk kene siapkan utk papa, papa nk pegi kelas...rase bersalah pun ader kalu wat camtu..
ooohh the 2 pictures above, diorang tgh mood bagus nk amik gbr..so apa lgi suro la pose macam2..hehe..
pastu biler izzh dah seronok sgt amik gbr, ajakla syirah amik gbr sekali...tetiba je syirah nangis..hmm syirah dah penat la tu main kat luar..so abisla sesi penggambaran ari tu..sumer org kene masuk sbb syirah dah nangis..hehe..

Yang kelakar tu adr sekali mak cerita..pelik camner ramai leh kenal abah padahal abah jarang borak2 ngan diorang..rupanye kenal sbb abah selalu senyum kat diorang.. tulah mmg abah suka senyum kat orang..and that smile has been inherited to all his children...kih kih..

Skali dah siap..ehhh rase cam murtabak maggi noni(my sis-inlaw) ader skali tu noni wat..not the exact taste, but almost... oklah lepas gian.. nk wat murtabak noni tu guna maggi.. not good for the kids..n also for me since im breastfeeding..
I find the recipe to be very practical, since syirah is eating it..it become impossible to give syirah proper baby food nowadays..she will deny it totally..
she will only eat what we eat, alhamdulillah dah ader gigi byk sikit skrg..so leh la nk makan lauk yg everyone is eating..for lunch..kalu pasta tu blend sket..tapi lelama tu nnti die tgk lain je dr orang lain makan..die pun x nk makan...hihi..macam2 laa syirah nii...
so for this recipe..she ate alot..which im happy to share with any of u moms out there who has a fussy eater in the house like me.. (errmm yg lum ader anak lg n anak x fussy pun leh makan gak..hehe)
Curry Beef & Pasta Pie
100 g spaghetti
400 g minced beef
1/2 tsp dried mixed herbs
1/2-1 tsp curry pwder
420 g mixed vegetables(corn, peas, carrot,potatoes)
4 onions thinly sliced)
1/4 cup parmesan cheese (grated)
1/4 cup cheddar cheese (grated)
6 eggs (lightly beaten)
2 tbsp milk
1. Preheat the oven to 180 deg celcius. Grease the appropriate dish to put your pie.
( i used a rectangle casserole dish)
2. Boil the spaghetti in plenty of water, breaking it in half. Cook until its tender
but still firm to bite.
3. Meanwhile, heat pan, fry all the vegetables with onions
4. Put in minced beef n add in curry powder n herbs.
5. stir well and pour in remaining ingredients.
6. Stir again and put in salt n sugar to your liking.
7. Pur the dish in your prepared dish n bake 35-40 min until set. Cool 5 min b4
Just a note, for this recipe, again i halved the minced beef, saje nk jimat daging.
and telur pun sama..i only put 2 eggs and add the milk from 2 tbsp to 1/3-1/2 cup of milk yg dah ditambah dgn 1 tbsp of flour, the flour helps to 'glue' the sapghetti together instead of eggs and you know the milk is enough when you can see the liquid is almost to the top of your spaghetti dish.
The mixed herbs, i only used fresh resemary..if u dont have any, i guess it should be ok, and the mixed veggies, i cut each individually since i dont have the prepared pack of mix vege at home (except for peas, yg tu ader)
hmm apa lagi..oohh...parmesan cheese tu i used powder, since parmesan kat sini susah nk cari block parmesan yg halal, cheddar cheese i used kraft sliced cheddar cheese which i sliced thinly.
mak aaaiii byk nyer alterations..hehe... ok..guess that's about it. selamat mencuba!!

satay is one of my favourite dish... once, i've eaten up to 15 sticks at one time...(ya Allah...dahsyat kan)..satay haji samuri tau..not the usual one..apparently i like satay hj samuri better than other coz of the nut gravy which tastes better and their satay's are bigger..
but i've heard hubby saying that the satay there isnt as big as they used to be..apparently there was a change of management... uhh...but never mind..still like it anyway...
Since satay here in perth is quite expensive..dlm 8 dollar dpt 6 cucuk je, yelah its not their customary food so we decided to make it our own.
This is my 2nd attempt to make satay. The first time it doesnt taste as good. so i dig up for more recipes and tried this one which was alhamdulillah to me and my hubby's satisfaction.. Syukur alhamdulillah..
450 g daging
450 g isi ayam
sejari kunyit hidup / 1 tsp serbuk kunyit *
250 g gula pasir
4 biji bawang putih *
sejari halia *
2 tbsp biji ketumbar *
1 tbsp jintan putih (cumin) *
1 tbsp jintan manis (fennel) *
2 btg serai *
* Semuanya dikisar
Bahan B1 biji buah keras - tumbuk
1 tsp gula pasir
1 tbsp air
1 tbsp minyak
Semua bahan dicampur bersama
Bahan C8 biji buah keras *
60 g asam jawa
2-3 biji bwg besar (saiz sdhn)*
6 biji bwg putih *
240 g gula
30 batang lada kering * ikut citarasa pedas masing2
2 cawan kacang tanah (digoreng)
2 batang serai - dititik
1 tsp belacan *
3 cawan santan
Sejari Kunyit hidup *
sejari lengkuas - dititik
Cara (Bahan A)
1. Daging cuci bersih dan ditoskan. Potong ikut citarasa masing2.
2. Gaul daging yg telah diptong dengan rempah kisar, gula dan garam sehingga
rata. Perap 2-3 jam, baru dicucuk dengan lidi.
3. Bakar atas tempat pembakar satay/ oven / gril.
4. Renjis dengan bahan B dan bakar sampai garing n masak
5. Hidang dgn kuah sate, nasi impit, timun n bawang.
Cara (Bahan C)
1. Kacang tanah dikisar, jangan terlalu halus.
2. asam jawa diramas dgn 6 cawan air dan ditapis
3. Tumis rempah kisar sehingga garing n enak baunye
4. Masukkan serai n lengkuas titik. Tuang air asam. kacau rata
5. Masuk gula n garam
6. Masuk kacang tanah last sekali dan masak sampai mendidih n naik minyak dgn
7. Masak smpi desired consistency. Simpan semalaman lagi sedap.
Tideous isnt it? haha...yup..biler dah terdesak mmgla rajin wat..especially i was fasting that day..so macam2 la nak makan.. but if im back in msia..i wouldnt guarantee ill still do it.. it depends on demand from my hubby n kids..hehe but anyway..about the recipe..
i halved all the ingredients since i only used half amount of the chicken n meat.(sape lak nk makan kalu wat banyak2 kan..)I didnt have kunyit hidup, so i only used serbuk kunyit. I cooked the satay in the oven n soak the skewers (btg lidi) in water so it wont burnt, but still it got burnt...maybe i shoudlve soaked them longer.. satay taste better when they're sweet..so i used around 200g of sugar for both kuah kacang n the satay marinate..
During baking the satay in the oven, i drizzle some of the marinate on top of the satay...maybe next time i shouldnt have done that, which resulted the satay to taste a little bit bitter.. n the satay was not shiny like usual.
But overall the taste is there... Alhamdulillah..

Kelakar sebenarnye sejarah scone ni..
Camni ceritanye...ceh cakap omputih la plak..kih kih..before i got married..i have read scone recipes dozen of times...but looking at its shape n texture... i was always hesitant to even try to bake it..dlam hati selalu ckp.."isshhh sedap ke scone nih..."
i cant remember when...but my 1st try on scones..really proved my theory that scones was just a plain thick biscuit which were hard and take a long time to finish..plus asyik lekat2 kat gigi je...(leceh betull)
ok...then i put scones far away out of my life...untillll one day, mama (my MIL) bought scones..i was at my in-laws house that time..ok, memula tgk scone tuh..alamak..sconee laaa..aihhh...camner nih..mama dah offer suro makan..camne nihhh....sekali tgk mama makan camner..lerrrrr camniii rupanye makan scone...
KAH KAH KAH KAH KAH KAH.... Ya Allah ape ke mendenye laaaa suriani ooooiiii...rupanye kau tak tau makan scone camner... hahahahahahahahah
patutla dulu mkn scone lambat nk abis...rupanye scone kene potong separuh, toast kan n sapu ngan butter/jam...to counter the plain taste of the scone itself...lerrr dulu aku pegi bantai makan camtu jeeehhh... tulaaa org suro belaja dulu camner nk makan x nakk...amende laa suriani...
and after that incident...i have love scone since and made dozen of scones here in perth..and for that intriguing experience..i would like to share with you my scone recipe..
1 1/2 cup plain flour
3/4 cup oat flakes
1 tbsp baking powder
1/4 cup sugar (either normal sugar we eat/refined sugar)
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 cup cold butter (but into cubes) - meaning just come out of fridge
1/4 cup thickend cream(or just ordinary cream will do)
2 eggs (beaten)
1/2 cup raisins (i didnt put any)
1. Combine flour, oat flakes,baking powder, salt and sugar in a food processor. Blend for a minute. add butter and blend again until it resembles a coarse breadcrumbs (serbuk roti kasar). Leave the mixture in the processor.
2. In another bowl, combine eggs and cream.Lightly whisk the mixture and put it inside the processor.Beat until it forms a dough.
3. Knead the dough with the raisins. Drizzle some flour coz its a bit sticky. Flatten the dough to be around 2.5 cm thick..make circle shapes out of the dough.
4. Put a grease-proof paper on your baking pan and bake the scones for 15 minutes at 180 deg until it turns golden. Serve with butter and jam (dont repeat the same mistake i did..hehe)
There are 2 more scone recipe which i have tried and taste delicious..i'll post it here when i bake some for the family..

Sesungguhnya Allah itu Maha Mengetahui dan MAha Bijaksana...
At this moment..i am writing my blog while watching all my relatives online thru my YM.. although i cant be there physically but seeing all the preparation and talking to them online is good enough for me...
Thanx to Auntie Nana, Auntie NOni, jaja, auntie mok, auntie gayah, wak apau, uncle ghani, ucle syah, umairah, nadhirah and not forgetting mama for helping out my family for the preparation..
Currently im watching my sis-in-law (kak ayu) preparing bunga manggar...which is one of my fav thing to do everytime pegi umah org kawen nk rewang(tolong2).Alaaa kesian sungguh she has to do it by her own..i can only watch n talk to her just to accompany her so she wont get sleepy while doing it..its already 12am now..and pelamin is being rearranged...and i can see my my mum running here n there making sure everything is in order...thank you to every one for chit chatting with me online and treat as if i was there together with them..making jokes n everything as usual..totally makes me feel like im at home...
special tribute to my bro zaili..for making the effort to switch on the laptop everytime i sms him to be online..and my mom, my eldest bro, a jelan..k ayu, and even zaid for taking the effort to talk to me although they are super busy with the wedding

The Big Day itself..
Just finished watching my bro's wedding...thought i could control my emotions..but once he stepped on the pelamin..suddenly drop of tears ran thru my cheeks...hmmm...sedih la plak rase... but syukur nye pada Allah coz i can hear the kompang being played..and i can see my relatives n cousin who came to the wedding..some of them even chat with me..
my bro zaili even put the sign on top of the laptop.."feel free to chat with kak chun" hehe rase cam selebriti je...kih kih kih...
Well alhamdulillah majlis dah selesai....Although im not there to say it personally, but many thanx to those who have helped my family with the wedding...
Special thanx to auntie zainab and mama for helping A LOOOOTTT during the big day itself... Thank you soo soo soo much!!! Hanya Allah dapat membalas jasa baik mama n auntie zainab..
And to Zaid and Eina...congratulations again..moga menjadi suami n isteri yg soleh solehah..dpt zuriat yg beriman dan kehidupan yg diberkati Allah...
aihhh...seems like yesterday i babysit my brother and played with him when we were small..tup2 dah jadi laki orang... can still remember his curly hair and colgate smile which remains until now..hehe...

Interesting topic hubby had during his Friday Prayer today..its about parents.
Saying that parents are actually a nikmat for us..meaning a gift from Allah to us.
Of may things we discussed about.one thing i find it interesting n wish to share with all of you.
The imam told in the khutbah that the blessing of Allah is upon the blessings of our parents..So on any occasion in our life which we find it difficult to obtain happiness or achievement..other than seeking the blessing of Allah...we MUST not forget our parents..
It is in their doa n blessings that HELPS us the most in our daily life. Be it in finding a good job, good grades in exam, a good husband/wife, a job promotion, or simply a good life.
Just tell me, how many times do we go and say to our parents... Mak, doakan saya berjaya dlm exam nnti ye...or doakan kehidupan saya diberkati ye...At a certain stage in our life, when we feel that we are independant enough to do eveything by our own...we often forget our parents and their role in our life..
Believe it or not their doa is THE most precious thing in the WORLD.. besides Allah's power and greatness..
Just think that maybe what we achieve today might be from their daily doa after prayer or simply a whispering in their heart and mind wanting us to be better in life.. and if we find something is lacking in our life..maybe their doa is not with us, maybe something we did has not been blessed by them..
So im just telling you today to cherish your parents while they are still here with us today.. ask for their blessing in our life and insya-Allah ALLAH'S blessing will always be with us..
Just remember for us woman..our priority changes after marridge, but we still can contribute to them thru our deeds done to our husband n family..its a plus points for them..we do somethng good..they get it too...yes..please correct me if im wrong..but its stated in hadith sahih.
Its a small reminder for you n me..
